Ocean Towage

Foss specializes in comprehensive marine transportation services from point-to-point global turnkey transportation services to total project management. Long-haul dead ship tows, large crane barge or drydock tows are examples of the core competencies offered by the Foss Projects department, particularly for tows that present exceptional technical and operational challenges.

Foss Project Services provides large-scale Tug and Barge transportation solutions to global oil majors and engineering, construction project management companies, and specializes in extreme environments and in delivering cargo to remote and challenging project sites both domestically and internationally.

Offshore Wind Component Fendering Solutions

Foss Project Services offers offshore wind foundation and turbine component shore-to-site feeder solutions for windfarm installation and O&M operations. Foss has uniquely managed a continuation of offshore tug and barge shuttling and offshore positioning & mooring operations to support large-scale windfarm projects on time and on budget.

Port Crane Transportation

Foss Project Services offers key experience in transporting by barge the full range of port service cranes, including Ship-to-Shore Cranes, Container Gantry Cranes, and a variety of other bulk handling crane equipment. Each unique transportation scenario has provided us with challenging extended scope experiences and subcontractor management opportunities to conclude heavy roll-on/roll-off or skid-on/skid-off load/discharge operations with dynamic ballast operations to support.

Government Transportation

Foss Project Services has held a commitment to the US Navy with the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving (SUPSALV) for many years. Foss works together with this structure of salvage organizations to manage and maintain a network of emergency response equipment that provides vessel response for deep ocean search and recovery, technical assistance for oil and hazardous substance spills, and Ocean towage response for Navy vessels. Foss Project Services also has a long history of transporting sensitive cargo for the Department of Defense in support of military exercises in remote locations with limited infrastructure.

Emergency Response Towage

For over 100 years, Foss has responded to countless emergencies involving vessels in distress, rescue towing, and salvage support from Alaska to Mexico and throughout the Pacific Rim. Considering our large footprint and capable fleet, our rescue towing record surpasses any other company in the Americas.

The Foss Ocean towage fleet offers offshore installation and decommissioning support for offshore rigs, topside platforms, and jackets worldwide with some of the most advanced barges and powerful tugs in the industry. In addition, in-house marine engineering & naval architecture services offer a broad scope for analyzing and planning dynamic offshore operations.

Aid Transportation

Foss Project Services has a long history of working directly with first responders, providing aid for large disasters. Foss supported recovery efforts in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Foss delivered up to 600 utility trucks to assist in restoring power, housed first responders in three accommodation vessels or “floating hotels,” and produced and distributed thousands of meals to island residents.
